Maniago is very conscious of its environment and aware of the need for community participation.
We contribute to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Foundation, which is involved with the care and rehabilitation, mainly of orphan elephants.
We develop programmes involving the local communities in the areas where we handle large projects, such as filming, conferences or incentives, by offering short term jobs to them, and by assisting a school or a hospital with much needed equipment or foodstuff and clothing.

The elephant is the symbol of Africa, and if people do not
understand this, then our wildlife is doomed.
Ivory is just a material – when in fact we are looking
at mere TEETH of an elephant.
With so many wonderful and beautiful minerals like gold and
silver and precious stones in the ground, why do we need the
material ivory anyway? What is so beautiful about it? It is only
a TOOTH. Leave it where it belongs - in an elephant’s mouth!
